Every November 11, Veterans Day pays tribute to the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The observance began in 1919 as Armistice Day, marking the end of World War I, and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor veterans from all conflicts.
Throughout the country, communities come together with parades, ceremonies, and heartfelt gestures recognizing the dedication and sacrifices of local veterans.
This day also calls attention to the unique challenges faced by many veterans upon returning home and highlights the important role of organizations supporting their transition, such as the Wounded Warrior Project.
By joining community events or supporting local veterans’ causes, everyone can help ensure our service members’ courage and commitment are sincerely appreciated and remembered. Read More... |

Health authorities are warning of a deadly listeria outbreak linked to recalled ready-to-eat pasta products, with six deaths and 27 illnesses reported in 18 states since August 2024.
Recent fatalities include cases in Hawaii and Oregon, while earlier deaths occurred in Illinois, Michigan, Texas, and Utah.
Nearly all affected individuals required hospitalization, with one tragic pregnancy loss among the cases.
The outbreak has been traced to pre-cooked pasta from Nate’s Fine Foods in Roseville, California,
prompting a recall of almost 245,000 pounds of linguine, fettuccine, penne, and other ready-to-eat meals distributed by FreshRealm.
Impacted products were sold at major stores including Walmart, Trader Joe’s, Kroger, and Albertsons, as well as brands such as Sprouts and Home Chef.
Consumers are urged to discard or return recalled products and thoroughly clean surfaces, since listeria thrives in cold environments.
Officials stress ongoing vigilance and urge the public to monitor updates for additional recalls. Read More... |
