$5,000 Scholarship Opportunity for Local High School Students

Holiday Extravaganza Announces Fran & Russ Anderson Family Legacy Fund Scholarships

High school students residing in Auburn Hills, Pontiac, Waterford, and White Lake have a unique chance to earn a $5,000 scholarship through the Fran & Russ Anderson Family Legacy Fund.

Each of these four communities will award one scholarship to a deserving student who has demonstrated a commitment to making a difference in their local area.

Recipients will also serve as Junior Grand Marshals in the upcoming Holiday Extravaganza Parade, scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, in downtown Pontiac.

To qualify, applicants must:

- Be a high school student residing in one of the specified communities.

- Submit a 500-word or less essay detailing their personal contributions to their community.

- Be available to participate in both the Scholarship/Jr. Grand Marshal Ceremony and the Parade on December 6, 2025.

Applications and essays are due by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Essays will be evaluated anonymously by officials from each community, focusing solely on the quality of the content.

The scholarships honor the late Fran Anderson, a dedicated teacher in the Pontiac School District and a founding member of the Holiday Extravaganza.

Her legacy of community service continues to inspire through this initiative.

For more information or to apply, visit the Holiday Extravaganza's official website or contact Linda Zabik at (248) 421-7198.

Don't miss this opportunity to be recognized for your community contributions and to receive financial support for your educational journey.
