Experience the Vibrant Fall Colors in Milford, Highland, and White Lake

Join the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area Fall Color Hike on October 19, 2025

Autumn in Michigan brings a spectacular display of fall colors, and the communities of Milford, Highland, and White Lake are prime locations to witness this seasonal transformation.

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the Crossroads Group is organizing a Fall Color Hike (Click the link to register) at the Pontiac Lake Recreation Area. Participants can choose between a 4-mile or a 2-mile hike, both offering scenic views of the park's vibrant foliage.

The trails feature moderate hills and several picturesque viewpoints overlooking the park. Hikers are encouraged to maintain a leisurely pace to fully appreciate the autumn scenery.

To reach the meeting point, take M-59 (Highland Road) to Williams Lake Road, proceed north for 0.6 miles, make a U-turn to head south on Williams Lake Road, and the park entrance will be on the right. After entering, continue straight for about 0.4 miles until the road curves left toward the beach area. The hiking trailhead is located near the end of the parking lot, adjacent to both vault and modern restrooms.

In addition to the hike, the region offers other fall-themed events. On Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Highland Veterinary Hospital is hosting a Fall Festival at 1255 South Milford Road. The event includes raffle baskets, games, and a pet costume contest, with proceeds supporting Happy Paws Rescue.

For families, the Trick-or-Treat Along the Trail event at Kensington Metropark in Milford is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, from noon to 3:45 PM. This non-scary, family-friendly event features a festive trail with costumed characters and fall-themed photo opportunities.

Embrace the autumn season by participating in these local events and enjoying the stunning fall colors that Milford, Highland, and White Lake have to offer.
